Applying Vinyl Decals to Vinyl Fabric

I am sure as you read through these post you have or will figure out that I love my man-cave. It is my favorite on-going project. It is this space in my home that some of my most creativity comes out.

I this video I am posting today I am showing you how I apply vinyl decals to the vinyl fabric on my pub table stools. I have yet to find any type of fabric that I could use for upholstery with the Minnesota Loons logo, so I have created my own!

Applying Vinyl Decals to Table Tops

Vinyl decals are a very versatile way of customizing just about anything. I get my decals from eBay or Amazon and if I can't find what I want I go to my local sign place and have one custom made. The decals on my Dart cabinets are a good example of custom decals.

In today's video I show you how to apply decals to table tops.

In 2007 I started what has become a never ending DIY project. I took it upon myself to remove the roof of my home and build a complete 2nd story addition. Truth be told I had believed that I would be working on my garage addition by now, but no. Having a garage at this point is probably fantasy.

During the framing construction of this 2nd story addition I have fallen from the roof twice. The graphic video I am sharing below is a good reminder as to why you should wear a fall harness. A fall harness is not a complicated thing to install on your home. A kit can be purchased easily at any home improvement store. At the time of this post kits started at about $30.00. Most kits have both a temporary and permanent hook loop that is installed at the peak of your roof.

Having regularly used my fall harness after this incident and after my 2nd fall where I was wearing it, I have a strong belief in their use. I would highly recommend that you install one on your house if you ever go up on your roof.

Using PEX Pipe and Pex Press Fittings

In my home I have been replacing 100% of the old steel and copper plumbing pipes with PEX. I feel PEX water pipe is far superior to any of the other options, Steel, Copper or CPVC. In this video I show you the basics of PEX water pipe installation. This is for water pipe ONLY. Hydronic systems use a different type of PEX.

Re-purposing Stools for the Man-cave

Well, I have been kind of Manic lately. Have not been getting much sleep. On the positive side I have been completing a lot of those partially done projects. I also have been getting a bunch of the editing done on many of the videos I have had sitting, both old and new, waiting to be edited.

You can expect a short flurry of videos being posted. For now here is my "Re-purposing Stools for the Man-cave".

It's Sunday!

Well, still on the manic side of things.

Yesterday, I touched up the drywall in the main level bathroom. Then I went back to working on the MNUFC bar stools I am making. I sanded them. Wiped them down with lacquer thinner and then primed them. I also assembled the shower stall for the basement bathroom. In between all of that I dorked around on and off with programming a couple of the websites I manage.

Today, once I started going, I sanded and then touched up a few spots I missed on the upper half of the main level bathroom and then painted the lower half. At least I got rid of a half gallon of old paint. I will be tiling the lower half of the walls so all I needed to do was seal the drywall before I use mastic on it. 2 coats of paint to make sure it was well sealed.

Mid day I went back to the stools. I painted the stool and table base with their first and second coat of paint and will finish tomorrow, I hope. I also finished covering 2 of the stool seats and added the decals.

Tonight, I am going to the MN WILD game. :-) So busy. Just waiting for that depression to hit. It always does. :-(

About Me

HI EVERYONE

I am not new to Blogging, but this thread is. I am going to start this thread with a bio which I hope will help you put some of my future posts in context.

I was born in 1965

I enlisted in the United States Air Force where I served for about 2 years before getting sick and being discharged. I am a disabled veteran, with a service connected disability due to that illness. My diagnosis is serious and persistent Manic Depression or as they call it now Bipolar Depression. This illness has prevented me from maintaining stable gainful employment. However, throughout the years I have been able to find ways to be a productive member of society. (Below I will share with you a list of many of my volunteer works.

These days my illness has become to unstable to maintain the level of volunteer work I once did and is limited to simply helping at events here and there. I do occasionally work in the HVAC industry when work is available and I am stable enough to do so. Throughout the years I have sporadically returned to college, I have earned 5 associate's degrees and nearing completion of a bachelor's degree.
